We were stopped by a young girl who spoke great English. She was selling pumelos (those enormous grapefruit looking things that you see in the grocery store) that had been stuffed with Chinese herbal medicine and then cut up (or you could actually buy the whole thing). She urged us to try some samples (good for a sore throat) and after quick looks around the group to say "really, should we?" we went ahead. I can see why that'd be good stuff for a sore throat because it sure cleared my sinuses fast! I did not care for the taste AT ALL, but then again it's medicine not candy. Nicole joked that she wanted her picture with the pumelo so that we could show it to the hospital later if she keeled over. We laughed and then followed suit (couldn't hurt to have the evidence, right? only joking) There was a humane society set up adopting out puppies and there was a brindle one I would've loved to take home, but they didn't want Peanut in trade (only joking....) You can also get your hair washed right at the flower market. We're still not entirely sure what that was all about!!
